We are not a free Masonic organization, we are not Freemasonry, nor do we speak on behalf on any Freemasonic jurisdiction, lodge or organization. We are a society of non-masons, and Masons who are dedicated to fostering curiosity, encouraging questions, and cultivating a deeper understanding of the betterment of self through study, dialogue, and our collective experiences.

Weekly Masonic Reflection Letter: July 1st, 2026.

“Verily, I say unto you: Be wise as serpents and harmless as doves.”

Dear Brethren, Masonry and the Galilean Master, counsel us to walk through this fallen world with a rare but powerful combination: the discernment of the serpent and the harmlessness of the dove. For Wisdom is the first of Masonry’s Three Great Pillars. Man must become “wise” to enable him to distinguish truth from deception, appearance from reality, and the permanent from the temporary. It protects him from becoming the victim of his own passions, prejudices, and impulsive judgments. At the same time, harmlessness tempers wisdom with compassion, humility, and brotherly love, ensuring that knowledge is never used to dominate, deceive, or injure others, but always to uplift and bless mankind.

Wisdom teaches us that pain is an unavoidable part of mortality, yet suffering is often magnified by our own selves. Difficulties, disappointment, loss, and adversity are among the Grand Architect’s greatest instruments for shaping character. The additional suffering arises because we refuse to accept reality as it is, complain against circumstances beyond our control, or cling to how we imagined life should have unfolded. A Mason understands that every trial carries within it the opportunity to refine his judgment, strengthen his faith, and govern his passions.

Prosperity and hardship, success and failure, joy and sorrow all have their appointed season and are temporary in the Grand Architect’s greater design. A Mason therefore neither becomes intoxicated by success nor overwhelmed by adversity. He learns to observe without haste, judge without prejudice, and act without malice; allowing ourselves to make righteous, compassionate, and courageous decisions. Him is truly wise who walks humbly before God, governs himself with discipline, serves others with love, and becomes a Light to all who cross his path.

Fraternally yours, The Presidency of the Society of Light.
Signed in Spirit and Truth.
