Weekly Masonic Reflection Letter: June 10th, 2026.

“Follow Me now, and Let the Dead Bury their own dead.”

Dear brethren, the Master of Galilee’s response to a disciple who wished first to attend to a family obligation appears contrary to the sacred obligations of family and society. Yet the Master and Masonry teach us a profound spiritual lesson: the pursuit of spiritual awakening must occupy the highest place in a man’s life. The call to transformation, and to divine purpose must not be continually delayed by convenience, comfort, and the endless distractions of the material world. It is a declaration of priorities and a summons to commitment.

Masonry’s purpose is not about titles, honors, social distinction or about performing perfect ritual. Masonry is on earth to awaken the human soul from the sleep of spiritual death into a higher way of life, and into a new understanding of our purpose and responsibilities before God and humanity. The journey from darkness to Light is the gradual realization that life is not centered upon ourselves, our ambitions, or our personal recognition. Rather, the awakening of consciousness, centered upon our duty to become better men, faithful servants of God, and useful members of the human family.

There are two ways of living before us. One is occupied entirely with the temporal: status, possessions, recognition, and the endless pursuit of personal advantage. The other is devoted to the eternal: becoming truth, virtue, wisdom, and service. Not “What can I gain?” but rather, “What can I contribute?”Every action, every word, and every decision contributes either to the building up or the tearing down of the moral fabric of society made up of your family, your brethren, your community, and future generations. The Grand Architect of the Universe is not a distant Creator, but the source of Truth, Wisdom, and Moral Law. We do not seek only knowledge about Him but alignment with His will. Every virtue developed, every weakness conquered, and every act of service performed becomes part of our spiritual labor in the quarry of life. Make no mistakes, life is not merely about making a living, but about becoming worthy of the life we have been given.
