Weekly Masonic Reflection Letter: Aug 12th, 2026.

“Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you.”
Dear Brethren, Greetings from the President. There are moments in every man’s journey when our own strength, wisdom, and preparation seem insufficient. We may reach the limits of what we can accomplish by our own hands, and in those quiet moments we are reminded that we are not required to carry every burden alone. When all else fails, divine assistance remains obtainable through sincere prayer.

Prayer is more than the utterance of words; it is the humble act of asking. To pray is to acknowledge that there is a Wisdom greater than our own and a Light beyond what our present understanding can see. In asking, we do not surrender responsibility. We place our trust in the Grand Architect of the Universe while continuing faithfully in the work before us. There is strength in the simple act of turning inward and upward, asking for guidance when the path is uncertain, courage when the heart is weary, patience when circumstances test us, and wisdom when our judgment is clouded. Prayer can quiet the restless mind, strengthen the conscience, and restore the hope necessary to continue.

Faith is not opposed to reason, nor is prayer a substitute for action. Rather, prayer can give purpose and direction to our actions. We prepare our minds, employ our hands, and seek divine guidance for the work that remains beyond our understanding. When every earthly resource appears exhausted, sometimes the answer begins with the humility to ask. For the Mason who seeks the Light understands that there are times when the greatest act of strength is to kneel, ask, and remember in whom we put all our trust. And when assistance is granted, may gratitude follow closely behind, expressed not merely in words but through renewed service to our fellowmen.
